Shahid Evidence · SMIMA — Sudan Media Intelligence & Monitoring Daily Media Monitoring Brief — Sudan Monday 12 October 2026

Executive Summary
• Al-Uqaydat mine / North Wadi (Sudan–Egypt border): the reported toll from Saturday 10 October's strikes jumped from "dozens" to 72 killed (Emergency Lawyers, preliminary) and more than 200 (three survivors to Sudan Tribune; the Sudan Founding Alliance), with over 15,000 miners displaced according to workers. Emergency Lawyers, the Somoud alliance, the Sudan Founding Alliance and survivors accuse the Egyptian air force — no official comment yet from Egypt or the Port Sudan authority. Strikes strongly corroborated; toll disputed; attribution unverified.
• West Kordofan: OCHA Sudan is "deeply concerned" by a 9 October drone strike on a building sheltering displaced families in An Nuhud (at least 12 killed, 8 injured) and a strike in Ghubaish (5 killed incl. 3 children), calling rising drone strikes "deeply alarming" — without naming a perpetrator. The Kordofan Observatory attributes them to the army.
• Kadugli: Darfur24 raises the toll of the Klimo shelling to five members of one family (a mother, her three children and their grandmother), from four shells fired by an armoured vehicle west of the city; the Sudan Doctors Network attributes it to the SPLM-N. A drone believed to be the RSF's injured a woman at the Bajun mine in Qadir locality.
• Jebel Marra: the SLM (Abdel Wahid) civil administration says acute malnutrition has killed 1,852 people in Jebel Marra, Tawila and Ain Siro — unverified.
• Economy: the central bank is speeding up local-currency sukuk and certificates to fund the deficit and absorb liquidity, the first issuance since April 2023.
